Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
Seeing the vast expanse of Northwest China and the many towns that had yet to hear the gospel, Eckren issued a passionate call to carry the good news to the ends of the earth. Today, do we also see those around us who have yet to know the Lord? Evangelism is not merely the mission of faraway missionaries; it is the calling of every Christian. The Lord has not promised that this path would be easy, but He has promised the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit. May we not shrink back in our weakness, nor remain silent in the face of difficulties. Starting right where we are, let us witness to Christ in love and action, so that more may hear the gospel and come to know our Savior.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for showing us the power of the gospel and Your unfailing love through the lives of missionaries throughout the ages. Lord, please forgive us for often being so caught up in our own lives that we overlook those around us who do not yet know You. May the Holy Spirit grant us courage, wisdom, and a compassionate heart, making us willing to step out of our comfort zones to answer Your call. Whether at home, at work, or in distant places, may we faithfully bear witness for You. Please raise up more workers to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen!
