Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
The Rijnharts sowed seeds in the Tibetan borderlands for three years and saw very little fruit. Yet she noted that only by obeying the Lord of the harvest can one have peace within. We often treat 'results' as proof of God's presence, and easily lose heart when we see no change. Paul reminds us: 'And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.' The timing is in God's hands; our duty is in our hands. Today, in what matter am I tempted to give up because I see no results?
Lord of the harvest, thank You for calling us to sow and for holding the time of harvest in Your hands. We confess that we often grow discouraged because we do not see results, and even doubt whether our efforts have any meaning. Grant us the faith of the Rijnharts, that we may remain faithful to our duty through long seasons of waiting. Keep us from growing weary in doing good, trusting that in Your appointed time we will reap. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
