1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
True faith is not an esoteric theory, but a life lived out. In the face of worldly prejudice and suffering, many faithful believers have not shrunk back; instead, with a lifetime of faithfulness, they have written 'a letter from Christ' upon the land where they live. We often shrink back because we fear loss or fear being misunderstood, but God's 'perfect love' gives us the courage to break through fear. Today, may we not merely be preachers of truth, but rather, in genuine love and sacrifice, write our own chapters of faith through our actions.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for saving and sustaining me with Your perfect love. Lord, when I face the storms of life, the eyes of the world, or unknown fears, may Your love fill my heart and dispel all my timidity and anxiety. Grant me the resolve to be faithful unto death, that I may know how to follow You closely in both prosperity and adversity. Please use my life to be a living, wordless letter, living out Your grace and glorifying Your holy name in my daily life. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
