Zechariah 4:6 He said to me, "This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the Lord Almighty."
The message of Zechariah 4:6 strikes at the very heart of ministry and life. In building our lives, it is all too easy to fall into relying on external resources, personal talents, and planning abilities, mistakenly believing that our sweat and achievements determine the outcome. Yet, without the Holy Spirit breathing the breath of life, all outward busyness and accomplishments are ultimately but fleeting dust. True fruitfulness lies not in a comfortable environment, but in a life constantly connected to the truth of the Lord. Facing the challenges and unknown trials ahead, we should not pray for the removal of hardships, but rather that we may stand firm in the truth, let go of self-will, and yield completely to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me of the foundation of my life through Your Word. Lord, I know that 'unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.' In the face of many heavy burdens and challenges in life and ministry, please forgive my pride in often trying to rely on my own strength and power. I earnestly pray that the Holy Spirit would breathe the living water and breath of life into my heart, renewing my vision. Lord, I do not ask for a path free of storms, nor do I ask for my ministry to become easy; I only ask that You grant me a steadfast, unwavering faith, so that I may stand firm in all circumstances and cling closely to Your heart. May Your perfection be made manifest in my weakness, and may Your name alone be kept holy. In Jesus Christ's name I pray, Amen!
