Exodus 33:14-15 And he said, "My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." And he said to him, "If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here."
James Gilmour's insight beautifully echoes Moses' plea, revealing the core of the life of faith: rather than going our own way, we are to trust God's leading and presence. We often tend to plan our lives according to our own will, falling into anxiety when we encounter storms and deep waters. Yet, God's presence is our most secure anchor. When we lay down our own cleverness and desire for control, willingly letting the Lord guide our steps, His grace will make a way for us even in deserts or dark valleys, bringing deep peace and ultimate joy.
Dear Lord, thank You for the promise of Your personal presence. Forgive my weakness of often acting on my own will and relying on my own understanding. Lord, I do not ask for a smooth and obstacle-free path ahead, but only to walk with You at every moment. Even if I walk through deep waters and dark valleys, as long as You are by my side, my heart will have peace. Guide my daily steps, break my self-righteousness, and make me willingly submit to Your leading, that I may become a fit vessel for Your use. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen.
