— Ding Limei · Source: According to Mrs. Si's "The Book of Intercession," Ding Limei always carried three books with her containing the names of thousands of people who had prayed for her.
1 Timothy 2:1-2 I urge, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people, for kings and for all those in authority, so that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in godliness and holiness.
Pastor Ding Limei lived out the commandment to "intercede for all people" with his life. His prayer list included both prominent figures in society and ordinary citizens from rural areas. In contrast, our own prayer circles are often too narrow, mostly limited to our own needs or close personal relationships. God does not show favoritism, and Christ's love knows no borders or class divides. Today we must examine ourselves: Is my heart open to those of different status, even complete strangers? Only when we are willing to transcend indifference and prejudice, bringing people one by one to the throne of God's grace, can our lives truly reflect the vast, selfless mercy and love of Christ.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me through the scriptures and the examples of spiritual forefathers. Forgive my selfishness and narrow-mindedness in prayer, and grant me a discerning and compassionate heart. Lord, broaden my spiritual vision, not only to meet my immediate needs, but also to pray for all people in the world—whether kings in high positions, renowned figures, or the poor and destitute. May Your Holy Spirit guide me, enabling me to bring people of all nationalities and social classes to You in my daily communion. May my prayers be pleasing to You, becoming a channel for others to receive peace and the Gospel. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
