— Gabriel de Magalhães
The light of the supernatural (faith) does not extinguish the light of nature (reason), but rather supplements its deficiencies and elevates it to a higher level. Reason guides the human heart to the door of truth, while faith opens that door so that the human heart may see the holy face of God.

— Gabriel de Magalhães · Source: Essentials of Transcendental Studies, Volume One: On Transcendentality and Nature

📖 Scripture Reference

Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

💭 Reflection

Nature is like a solemn door, within which God's eternal power and divinity are already engraved. Through reason, we can push open the door and find the existence of the Creator. However, reason can lead us to the door of truth, but it cannot replace taking the first step of faith. If we only remain at the level of intellectual exploration, faith becomes a cold theory. Only when the "light of the supernatural" within our hearts is ignited can we transcend the boundaries of reason, humbly and reverently enter the door, and truly experience God's presence and love in our lives.

🙏 Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for revealing the beauty of Your creation in the world, and for granting me reason to examine Your greatness and order. Soften my heart, so that knowledge may not become a barrier to pride, but rather a ladder to You. When my reason reaches its limit, and I face the limitations and confusion of life, I ask Your Holy Spirit to personally illuminate me, granting me abundant faith to cross the threshold, no longer to gaze from afar, but to draw near to Your holy countenance, and to rest in eternal truth and grace. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
