1 Corinthians 2:4-5 I do not speak or preach with wisdom and gentleness, but with a demonstration of the Holy Spirit’s power, so that your faith may not rest on human wisdom but on the power of God.
Dr. John Sung's cry and Paul's declaration struck like lightning, shattering our arrogance in service and life. We often focus on our eloquence, plans, and abilities, believing that clever words can change hearts. However, without kneeling in prayer, all efforts lack spiritual power. True service and revival are never products of the human mind, but clear evidence of the Holy Spirit's power. Only by completely dying to the "self," bowing down before God, and letting Him work, can our faith not be built on fragile human wisdom, but firmly rooted in God's unshakeable power.
Dear Lord Jesus, forgive me for often acting on my own cleverness and fleshly desires. When my heart is restless in the world, help me see that I actually have nothing and can do nothing. Lord, bring me back to my inner chamber and grant me a faith that willingly "kneels down." Strip away the empty pride within me, and let me empty myself before the cross. I do not seek human praise or flattering words, but only the clear testimony of the Holy Spirit and His power manifested in my life. May my mouth no longer speak empty words, but become a channel of Your grace. Lord, work for me personally, possess my entire life, and let all glory and praise belong to You. Amen.
