Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart as holy, and I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
Bishop Joseph Schereschewsky's perseverance and the prophet Jeremiah's calling silently remind us that no one's life trajectory is a historical accident. Whether we are in favorable circumstances or trapped in seemingly broken, restrictive "illnesses" and difficulties, God's wondrous hand, like a master craftsman, had already determined our unique life gifts and calling before we were even born. We don't need to envy others' pulpits, but rather, in the "secret chamber" and special provision God has provided for us, we should recognize His sovereignty, focus on moving forward, and utterly exhaust our meager strength in His eternal commission.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for knowing me and separating me from among millions of people, and for preparing me especially through the circumstances of my life. Lord, when the race of life is shattered by circumstances and my steps are limited, grant me the unwavering faith and patience of Bishop Joseph. Do not let me weep over closed doors, but let me willingly cultivate silently in unseen places. Rekindle the flame of calling within my heart, and remove my restlessness and laziness. May Your inexhaustible light of life shine forth without reservation through this earthen vessel, straightening my path forward. Amen.
