Luke 10:1 After this, the Lord appointed seventy men and sent them two by two before him to all the towns and places to which he was to go.
When Jesus sent his disciples out, he didn't let them venture out alone, but instead established the rule of "two by two." This was not only for efficiency but also out of compassion for human weakness. On the journey of faith, those who stand alone are easily broken by weariness and temptation, while the watchful eyes of companions strengthen the fortress. Do we always want to prove our strength and refuse to enter into genuine fellowship? True spiritual maturity lies not in self-cultivation, but in learning to support one another, witnessing the Lord's love in humble partnership.
Dear Lord, thank you for giving me companions on this journey. Forgive the pride in my heart, let me lay down the illusion of being a "lone hero," and humbly merge into your body. When I am weak, uphold me through the hands of my companions; when they are weary, let me be a shelter for others. Grant us a united spirit, let our fellowship be a fortress against the enemy, and let courage arise in mutual love. May we walk in pairs before you, opening the way for your gospel. In the name of the Lord, Amen.
