John 1:17 For the law was given through Moses, and grace and truth through Jesus Christ.
W. A. P. Martin's hope that the renewing power of the Holy Spirit would put new life into dry bones resonates with biblical truth: while law and science can regulate society and enlighten the public, they cannot reach the depths of the soul. The law is like a mirror, reflecting human deficiencies and limitations; only the "grace and truth" brought by Christ can melt away the ice like spring rain, bestowing upon life the power of transformation. While pursuing external progress, we must also reflect: without the renewal of inner life, all achievements will ultimately be empty talk. Only when touched by that compassion and great love can the soul attain true freedom.
Dear Lord Jesus, thank you not only for giving us the principles of righteousness, but also for humbling yourself to bring abundant grace and truth to the world. Have mercy on this land, just as you touched the heart of W.A.P. Martin, and open our hearts today. May your love be like light, penetrating the surface of systems and knowledge, reaching every thirsty soul. Heal our weaknesses, remove the hardness of our hearts, and give us the strength to be born again in your truth. May your glory be manifested in this generation, bringing about a transformation of life from within. Amen.
