— A.W. Tozer
To men and women everywhere Jesus says, "Come unto me, and I will give you rest." The rest He offers is the rest of meekness, the blessed relief which comes when we accept ourselves for what we are and cease to pretend. It will take some courage at first, but the needed grace will come as we learn that we are sharing this new and easy yoke with the strong Son of God Himself.

— A.W. Tozer · Source: The Pursuit of God, ch. 9 "Meekness and Rest"

📖 Scripture Reference

2 Corinthians 12:9 “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

💭 Reflection

As I struggled on my own, I grew increasingly weary. But God reminded me that true power doesn't come from my efforts, but from when I'm willing to stop and acknowledge my weaknesses; only then does His grace begin to operate fully. "Rest" is not passivity, but trust; "weakness" is not failure, but a door for God's intervention. May I learn to relinquish self-control, allowing the Lord space in my life so that His power may be revealed within me.

🙏 Prayer

Dear Lord, I confess that I often lose my way in my struggles, trying to bear the burdens of life on my own. Teach me to be still, to stop unnecessary self-struggle, and let my heart find rest in You. Lord, let Your grace be perfected in my weakness, and Your strength be my true support. Help me to trust, obey, and rely on You, and no longer to work according to my own fleshly desires. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
