Matthew 11:28-29 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
The Lord Jesus is not asking me to shirk responsibility, but rather inviting me to lay my worries, stress, and sense of self-control at His feet. Many times I've mistaken busyness for faithfulness, trying to shoulder everything with my own strength, forgetting that true strength comes from resting in the Lord. Rest is not stagnation, but an attitude of submission and trust. When I'm willing to let go of anxiety and the obsession with "I must control," allowing Jesus to be Lord, my heart finds true peace and ease. Today, I choose to enter into His rest and learn from His gentle and humble example.
Lord Jesus, I come before you, entrusting all my labors and burdens to you. Grant me a humble heart, to lay down my self-control and anxiety, and let me find rest in your love. Teach me to learn your example, to find strength in gentleness and obedience, not relying on myself, but on you. Guide my steps, renew my mind, and let everything I do stem from rest, done for the glory of your name. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
