Life

Corinth

Paul left Athens and came to Corinth. “He found a certain Jew named Aquila, a man of Pontus by race, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to depart from Rome. He came to them” (Acts 18:2), “and because he practiced the same trade, he lived with them and worked, for by trade they were tent makers” (Acts 18:3). “He lived there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them” (Acts 18:11). These things are in Lesson 1.

Ephesus

“Paul, having stayed after this many more days, took his leave of the brothers, and sailed from there for Syria, together with Priscilla and Aquila” (Acts 18:18); “He came to Ephesus, and he left them there” (Acts 18:19).

Later Apollos came to Ephesus. “He was mighty in the Scriptures” (Acts 18:24), “although he knew only the baptism of John” (Acts 18:25). “He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. But when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside, and explained to him the way of God more accurately” (Acts 18:26). Apollos went to Achaia, and “When he had come, he greatly helped those who had believed through grace” (Acts 18:27). These things are in Lesson 2.

Greetings in the Letters

At the end of his letter to the believers in Rome, Paul says: “Greet Prisca and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus” (Rom 16:3), “who risked their own necks for my life, to whom not only I give thanks, but also all the assemblies of the Gentiles” (Rom 16:4); “Greet the assembly that is in their house” (Rom 16:5). These words are in Lesson 3.

At the end of his letter to the church in Corinth, Paul says: “Aquila and Priscilla greet you warmly in the Lord, together with the assembly that is in their house” (1 Cor 16:19).

At the end of his letter to Timothy, Paul says: “Greet Prisca and Aquila, and the house of Onesiphorus” (2 Tim 4:19).

After this, the New Testament does not name them again.
